Who is responsible

What we process

• A random device ID stored in a cookie (lc_did) and in your browser's storage, so that restrictions can apply to a device without an account.
• A technical fingerprint of your browser (a hash), only to recognise devices that try to get around a restriction.
• Your country, derived from your IP address by our network provider. IP addresses are only stored as keyed hashes.
• Connection records (who was paired with whom, when, for how long), kept for 7 days for moderation.
• Still images of video streams for automatic nudity detection. Images without findings are deleted immediately; flagged or reported images are kept for 30 days, or until a restriction ends plus 30 days.
• When you report someone or are reported: the reason, the still images and the text chat of that conversation.
• Usage statistics, to improve the service: which page you opened, where you came from (referring site or campaign link), country, device type and browser family, how far you got (start, camera, waiting and chat times) and, if you give one, your rating after Stop. No IP address, no extra cookie and no third-party tools; linked to the device ID only if your browser already has one. Kept for 180 days.

Video and text

Video and audio go directly between you and your partner (peer-to-peer), or through a relay server that cannot see the content. We do not record video or audio. Text messages pass our server and are only stored when a conversation is reported.
