Safety guide

Talking to strangers can be fun and surprising. These tips help to keep it that way.

What you can do

  • Keep personal details to yourself: full name, address, school or workplace, phone number and social media accounts.
  • Think before you show anything on camera. Anyone can take a screenshot or film their screen.
  • Never send money, gift cards or codes to someone you met here, whatever the story.
  • If a conversation feels wrong, press Next. You don't have to explain yourself.

What lulchat does

  • 18+ only, confirmed on each device before chatting, and the house rules are always visible.
  • Automatic nudity detection on still images, with human review of everything that is not clear-cut.
  • Reports are reviewed by people. Reports of someone who looks under 18 are handled first.
  • Your partner never sees your city or your IP address, only your country and your local time.

How reporting works

Press the flag button (or R on a keyboard), choose a reason and confirm with "Report and skip". You are moved on immediately. The report includes the last few still images of your partner's video and the text chat of this conversation, so a moderator can judge what happened.

If you need help

If you are in danger or someone threatens you, contact your local emergency number or the police. You can reach the lulchat team at [PLACEHOLDER: contact e-mail].
